Nimi Patel, director in the Squire Patton Boggs India Practice, has been recognized as one of the “100 Most Influential in UK-India Relations” for 2019 at an event in the Houses of Parliament in London.
The “100 Most Influential in UK-India Relations” is an exclusive list of key influencers that enrich and help strengthen the UK-India relationship. Compiled from research by the editorial team of India Inc., a London-based media house whose flagship publication is the fortnightly India Global Business, the list includes influential people within business, politics, diplomacy, media, arts and culture. This year, the 3rd edition of the list brings gender diversity into focus, acknowledging the most influential women within the UK-India corridor.
Launching the “100 Most Influential in UK India Relations” at an evening reception in Parliament on 24 June were HE Ruchi Ghanshyam, High Commissioner of India to the UK and Manoj Ladwa, Founder and CEO of India Inc Group. The event, part of UK-India Week 2019, was the culmination of the first-ever India Day in Westminster, a full day of engagement which included debates on India’s Emerging Global Soft Power and the topic of Political Perspectives: Priorities & Policies, and two separate Parliamentary roundtable discussions featuring frontbench spokespeople from the UK Labour and Conservative Parties.
Ms. Patel, who was recently named by India Business Law Journal in its Top 100 A-List of global legal professionals who focus on India, is a member of the firm’s India steering group with a key focus on UK/Europe-India.
