Squire Patton Boggs assisted Radisson Hotel Group (RHG) on its signing of the Imperial Hotel, a Radisson Collection Hotel in Mount Victoria, Australia. This is the first Radisson Collection to arrive in the Asia Pacific region and is poised for “… a new generation of authentic, one-of-a-kind properties”. As Radisson explains, “each member hotel is original but united by certain qualities, including uncommon locations, distinctive design, deep connections with their destinations and a curated selection of local insider activities.”
The hotel will feature 60 rooms and is scheduled to open in 2023. It is owned by One Pro Investment Group, which purchased the hotel two years ago.
Rahul Parrab, partner and Head of the Asia Pacific Hospitality & Leisure Industry Group at Squire Patton Boggs, was delighted to have worked alongside RHG’s Mark Bullock, Director of Development, and Ramzy Fenianos, Chief Development Officer, Asia Pacific to achieve a successful signing for both parties. “This is an exciting project for Radisson and they have chosen a beautiful location in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales to introduce the Radisson Collection to Australia and the region. This project really is about revitalising the old and bringing in the new. We are pleased to have had the opportunity to work with Mark and Ramzy to achieve signing in a short timeframe. Andrew Taylor at Cre8tive Property helped us to understand and adapt to the owner’s concerns, which meant we could achieve signing quickly for the benefit of both parties – smiles all round,” he said.
Katerina Giannouka, President, Asia Pacific at RHG, said: “The regional launch of the Radisson Collection, our newest brand, represents an important milestone in our Asia Pacific expansion strategy. Blending history with contemporary style and intuitive hospitality, this storied hotel is destined to become a genuine local landmark, whilst also complementing our existing hotels in Australia. We look forward to creating a vibrant epicentre for visitors and the local community in the Blue Mountains. This will write a new chapter in the tale of this Australian icon.”
Rahul Parrab was supported by Kevin Lee, associate, and Shaista Azam, graduate. Ron Eames, partner at Holding Redlich, acted on behalf of One Pro Investment Group.
