The complex financial restructuring of Dana Gas PJSC has been recognized as Restructuring Deal of the Year at the IFLR Middle East Awards 2019, held at Burj Al Arab, Dubai, on 16 October. Squire Patton Boggs client Dana Gas, based in Sharjah, is the Middle East’s first and largest regional private sector natural gas company.

A cross-border, multidisciplinary team, led by Financial Services partner Tom Cerdan and chair of the firm’s Restructuring & Insolvency practice partner Stephen Lerner and involving practitioners in the firm’s Dubai, London, Cincinnati and Washington DC offices, advised on the financial restructuring of Dana Gas' US$750 million Sukuk.

Tom Wilson, UAE managing partner and the firm’s MENA coordinator, commented: “We are delighted to see this recognition. Dana Gas is a leading business in the oil and gas sector, and we were pleased to support it through one of the most complex debt restructurings the region has seen.”
