Squire Patton Boggs Appoints New Latin America Practice Head and Leadership Team

    Squire Patton Boggs is pleased to announce the appointment of Alejandro Peña-Prieto as head of the firm’s Latin America Practice. Mr. Peña-Prieto’s appointment, along with other changes to the Latin America Practice, will drive forward the firm’s tradition of providing seamless, cutting-edge services to clients doing inbound and outbound business across the region.

    As part of the firm’s strategy in the region, a 20-person Executive Committee was formed that is responsible for driving the strategic direction of the practice. This multidisciplinary team brings decades of experience of servicing clients across Latin America, and is composed of the following Squire Patton Boggs lawyers:

    The Latin America Practice also maintains three Country Desks in order to better attend to the needs of clients and closely monitor the firm’s relationships in those countries. The three Country Desks and their respective Chairs are:

    In addition to heading the firm’s Latin America Practice, Mr. Peña-Prieto is the managing partner of the firm’s Santo Domingo office, and is recognized as a leading lawyer in Latin America. He counsels clients on corporate, mergers and acquisitions, energy, finance, taxation, government relations, contracts and regulatory issues. Mr. Peña-Prieto has held a number of influential leadership positions, including serving two terms as president of the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic, and one term as vice chair of the board of governors of the Association of American Chambers of Commerce of Latin America (AACCLA).
