Stephanie Perraton, partner in Squire Patton Boggs’ Environmental, Safety & Health Practice and head of the UK licensing team, has been elected Vice President of Birmingham Law Society. Ms. Perraton was welcomed into her new role at Birmingham Law Society’s Annual General Meeting on 28 July 2020.
Founded in 1818, Birmingham Law Society is the largest regional society of its kind in the UK, representing more than 5000 legal professionals across Birmingham and the Greater Midlands. The Society serves to connect and support its members through its core values of community, advocacy and excellence.
Over the past year Ms. Perraton has served as Deputy Vice President, actively involved in some 40 events, including organising Birmingham Law Society’s Mental Health Awareness events for 2020.
At the Society’s AGM, Ms. Perraton thanked members for their support over the past year, including the last three months, which have thrown up particular challenges. She paid tribute to colleagues Linden Thomas, the outgoing President, and to Inez Brown, who assumes the role of President.
“It’s a great honour to take on this mantle,” comments Ms. Perraton. “I am really looking forward to supporting Birmingham Law Society in what will no doubt be a very different and challenging year for our community.”
