Garon is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group. He advises clients across the full range of commercial dispute issues, including cyber liability/data breach, professional negligence, banking, pensions and insurance.

    Garon regularly acts for clients who are subject to investigations or disciplinary proceedings by national and international regulators, including most recently the Financial Conduct Authority, the Financial Reporting Council and the Dubai Financial Services Authority.

    • Acting for a clearing bank in the defence of more than 500 small claims and complaints by customers alleging mis-selling of payment protection insurance.
    • Advising pension trustee clients on potential liabilities, third party claims and commercial insurance coverage issues following from a loss of scheme member data. 
    • Representing the Barlow Clowes’ Officeholders in successful recovery proceedings in the Isle of Man Court against offshore company administrators.
    • Advising hotel clients on third party liability issues following a data breach caused by the clients reservation systems operator in the US. 
    • Representing a US bank on a multijurisdictional dispute with a foreign investment agency over lending to the agency’s former CEO.
    • Advising a law firm client on liability issues and recovery claims following the theft of sensitive data by a former employee. 
    • Acting for an IFA client in the defence of claims and complaints by high-net-worth customers alleging the “mis-selling” of a range of tax efficient products, including film finance schemes.
    • Advising pension trustee clients on policy wording issues in their cyber liability insurance policy.
    • Representing a FTSE 250 plc in investigations and subsequent disciplinary proceedings by the FCA into alleged breaches of the Listing Rules.
    • Advising corporate clients on coverage issues and claims arising out of warranty and indemnity, cyber liability, D&O, property risks and professional indemnity insurances.
