Eugenia Bektasheva has substantial banking experience in representing international lenders and borrowers in Russia on the structuring and implementation of various finance transactions including syndicated and bilateral secured and unsecured loans.

    Eugenia has been involved in a number of high profile project finance, export finance, real estate finance and refinancing transactions for clients in Europe, Russia and the US.

    She has advised on various types of acquisitions, finance and security agreements and deal structures (involving direct asset acquisition and acquisition of shares) regarding real estate and other assets, and has participated in construction, insurance, valuation and operational aspects of those transactions.

    She also advises clients on a broad range of real estate, corporate and M&A transactions, joint ventures, private equity deals and restructuring and insolvency procedures.

    • Advising Czech Export Bank on a number of export finance facilities.
    • Representing a Czech Republic-based export bank in financing the construction and operation of a multifunctional business center in Saint Petersburg.
    • Advising Dataspace Partners on a US$150 million loan from OPIC (Overseas Private Investment Corporation), the US government’s development finance institution, for the development of up to six new professional data centers with a modern IT infrastructure in Moscow.
    • Advising major international banks (Unicredit, Raiffeisen Bank AG, Aareal Bank AG, Eurohypo Bank AG, Credit Suisse AG) on refinancing existing debt and financing new projects.
    • Advising a consortium of leading international investment funds (UFG and Capman) and EBRD on a project involving acquisition of a 100 percent interest in the largest pharmaceuticals and diagnostics holding company in Russia.
    • Advising the EBRD on a US$75 million loan to one of the largest electricity generating companies in Central and Eastern Europe.
    • Advising Morgan Stanley on a joint venture for the purpose of providing portfolio and asset management services including strategic advice to corporations.
    • Advising NPF Blagosostoyanie, Russia's second largest private pension fund, on its multimillion acquisition of a Russian bank.
    • Representing the purchasers on the multibillion dollar leveraged acquisitions of Industrial Union of Donbass, a leading Ukrainian and Central European Steel manufacturer, and Zaporozhstal.
    • Advising Baring Vostok on its follow on investment in Orient Express Bank.
    • Advising New Russia Growth (NRG) Fund in a series of private equity investments, including a mezzanine investment in the Russian financial services sector.
    • Advising Mariya, a furniture manufacturer and retailer in Russia, on a private equity investment from Aton Capital.
