Jake Berry is a senior advisor in the firm’s European Public Policy Practice. Jake is the Member of Parliament for Rossendale and Darwen and former Cabinet Minister for the Northern Powerhouse and Local Growth.

    In June 2017, Jake was appointed as the Minister for the Northern Powerhouse and Local Growth at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. Prior to this, Jake was asked by the Prime Minister to join his influential Policy Board and advise him on housing, local government and regional growth in Downing Street.

    Jake was appointed in Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) positions from 2010 – 2015. Most recently, he was PPS for the Rt. Hon. Greg Hands MP, Chief Secretary to the Treasury and, prior to this, PPS to the Rt. Hon. Grant Shapps MP, in his roles as Conservative Party Chairman in 2012, and Minister for Housing and Local Government in 2010.

    Educated at Liverpool College, followed by the University of Sheffield, Jake trained as a lawyer in the City of London, specialising in Housing and Development Law. This valuable experience has enabled him to effectively champion affordable housing and the construction sector within the House of Commons.
