Olga Bezrukova is a partner and head of the Intellectual Property & Technology Practice in Russia and the CIS. She has practiced intellectual property (IP) and technology law since 1989. Her experience includes serving as a Russian Patent Attorney since 1993 and a Eurasian Patent Attorney since 1996.
Olga is one of the most well-known and recognized IP experts and litigators with an impressive track record of wins. Over 10 years, Olga has been named among the best IP lawyers in Russia according to Best Lawyers, and is listed in IP by The Legal 500 EMEA 2019.
Olga’s practice focuses on the acquisition and protection of rights to inventions, trademarks and utility models. She also drafts technology transfer contracts and agreements, as well as other IP agreements governing transfers of rights to trademarks and license agreements, and issues reports on breaches of patent/trademark rights and on the legal status of IP items. In addition, she advises clients on copyright issues, drafts copyright-related agreements and assists with software and database registrations.
Olga has extensive experience in obtaining Russian patents in areas such as chemistry, pharmaceuticals, medicine, biology, biotechnology, mechanics and electrical engineering.
For the last two years, Olga has represented clients and won in more than 20 IP-related judicial proceedings, as well as at the Chamber for the Patent Disputes of the Rospatent.
Olga has participated in a variety of global projects related to transfers of rights and licensing of various IP items, including trademarks, technologies, etc.
Olga regularly speaks and participates at leading international and national IP and IT-related conferences, including INTA, Pharmaceuticals: Legal Issues by Pravo.ru and Skolkovo IP Academy. She has also participated as a speaker at events sponsored by the Adam Smith Institute (London) and annual conferences sponsored by Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International.
