    Rinku has more than 15 years’ experience advising sponsors, funds, host governments, export credit agencies and commercial lenders on the development and financing of international energy and infrastructure projects.

    Most recently, Rinku was a partner in the Global Energy and Resources Group of an international law firm, and was part of the team responsible for setting up and managing its Energy and Infrastructure practice in London.

    • Advising a consortium on the acquisition of a portfolio of UK power stations, including advice on a US$465 million facility issued to the portfolio.
    • Advising a global investment banking and diversified financial services group on the trading arrangements for its power assets located in the UK, Spain and Portugal, including on energy management services agreements and various underlying ISDA and EFET documentation.
    • Advising an investment bank and a privately owned investment manager as the mezzanine lenders in respect of the £110 million financing of a biomass CHP plant located in Widnes.
    • Advising the senior lenders, an investment bank and a privately owned investment manager on the £60 million financing of a biomass project in Tyseley.
    • Advising lenders on the financing of an ultra mega power project in India, including conducting a bankability review of the project documents.
    • Advising the senior lenders on the original project financing of an 800 MW power plant in South Wales.
    • Acting for an electricity generation company on commercial aspects of its £16.2 billion restructuring including advising on nuclear liabilities documentation.
    • Providing advice in relation to the provision of gas, electricity and other utilities to the Olympic Park.
    • Advising export credit agencies and commercial lenders on all aspects of the €6.4 billion financing for two individual pipelines transporting gas to Europe under the Baltic Sea from Russia to Germany.
    • Advising state-owned petroleum company on all commercial aspects its LNG projects, including its investment in the up-, mid- and down-stream aspects of the developments, LNG and gas sales agreements to markets in the US, the UK and Asia, as well as its investment into an LNG regasification terminal in Wales.
    • Advising a sub-Saharan oil and gas company on a guarantee backed facility in relation to an oil concession in Ethiopia.
    • Advising the lenders on an international oil company’s US$2 billion refinancing of its participation in the Jubilee Field in Ghana and upstream interests in Cameroon and Morocco.
    • Advising on commercial and financing arrangements relating to the Mthombo Refinery in South Africa.
    • Advising a sub-Saharan Africa-focused private equity fund on oil supply and storage arrangements following its participation in a joint venture through which it acquired an African downstream petroleum business.
    • Advising on the acquisition and disposals of various oil and gas interests in Poland, Tunisia and Morocco.
    • Acting for an oil and gas transporter in relation to the provision of two floating, storage and off-loading units to an international oil company.
    • Advising the lenders on the £800 million financing of the London Gateway Port.
    • Advising the lenders in relation to the US$1 billion financing of a petrochemical project located in Egypt and a subsequent event of default.
    • Advising the lenders of the financing of the first road project in India financed by international banks.
    • Acting for the monoline insurer on a £750 million multicurrency programme for the issuance of guaranteed wrapped bonds.
