Charlie Brereton is a member of our Public Policy Strategic Advocacy Practice, in which he guides a variety of organizations, both for-profit and non-profit, as they navigate the federal legislative and administrative process.

As an undergraduate at The George Washington University, Charlie developed insight into both chambers of Congress. Specifically, he worked in the Offices of House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) and Senator Richard Burr (R-NC). Charlie also brings knowledge of executive-level state politics through his employment in the Office of North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory (R).

Additionally, he acquired an understanding of the US healthcare system by participating in a rigorous internship program at Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA). While working at BCBSA’s Office of Policy and Representation in Washington DC, Charlie played a role in federal and state advocacy on behalf of the federation’s 36 independent health insurance companies.

Charlie also analyzed Affordable Care Act implementation and its impact on health insurers, as well as supported policy advisers during the development of corporate initiatives to manage and prevent prescription opioid abuse.
