John-Michael Chidwick is an associate in the firm’s Manchester office and a member of the firm’s Financial Services Practice. John-Michael advises banks, financial institutions and corporate borrowers across a variety of sectors and has experience of cross-border syndicated and bilateral bank facilities, finance and operating leasing arrangements, sale and leaseback structures and debt restructurings.

    Prior to joining the firm, John-Michael worked in the London and Hong Kong offices of an international law firm. John-Michael also completed secondments with the legal teams of major international companies in Toulouse, France, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

    • Acting for a Malaysian shipping company in respect of the project financing by a French bank of one FSU vessel chartered by a Maltese company for operations offshore Malta.
    • Acting for a Hong Kong bank in respect of a series of real estate financings for Hong Kong borrowers over commercial properties in London.
    • Acting for a Chinese financial institution in respect of the sale and leaseback financing of two LNGC vessels chartered by a Norwegian shipping company.
    • Acting for a Chinese leasing company in respect of the purchase and asset financing by a Chinese bank of eight Airbus, Boeing and Embraer aircraft on lease to airlines in Spain, Brazil, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.
    • Acting for a Chinese bank in respect of the asset financing to a Hong Kong shipping company of four 1,400TEU containerships chartered to a French shipping company.
