Dan Crayford is an associate in the firm’s Construction & Engineering and Infrastructure teams based in Manchester, specialising in non-contentious construction, energy and infrastructure projects. Dan has experience in advising funders, sponsors, developers (public and private), contractors and consultants on a variety of projects, including energy-from-waste plants, energy storage, residential, commercial and industrial development, and clean air zones. Dan is well versed in industry standard forms of contract, including JCT, NEC and iChemE, and common amendments to the same. Dan is familiar with the drafting and negotiation of construction contracts, professional appointments, development and funding agreements, security and ancillary project documentation.

    • Advising Rendesco on the construction aspects of its agreement with Last Mile Infrastructure (Last Mile), one of the UK’s largest Independent Network Owners, to form a ground source and water source heat pump infrastructure joint venture.
    • Currently advising Vital Energi on EPC and O&M sub-contracts under the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme funded CEF framework with a number of NHS trusts.
    • Part of the team advising an energy company on a number of generation and storage plants across the country.
    • Key member of the team advising Transport for Greater Manchester in relation to the Manchester Clean Air Zone.
    • Advised Vital Energi on the construction and wider project documents for an 18MW energy-from-waste plant at Drakelow and is currently engaged in negotiating a number of offtake contracts for the same project.
    • Advised clients in the public and quasi-public sectors (including registered providers of social housing), including in relation to the application of the public procurement regulations.
