Stanislav Ďurica’s practice focuses on employment, general corporate, litigation and arbitration matters and intellectual property.

    Stanislav advises Slovak and foreign multinational companies on all areas of individual employment law, in particular hiring, restructuring, transactions, employee transfers, personnel adjustment measures, termination of employment and related disputes (especially when top management is involved).

    Stanislav is part of our strong worldwide Labour & Employment team, providing to our clients a new, innovative and competitive platform – Global Edge – which has substantially increased our client offering. This enables us to advise our multinational clients with little input from outside counsel going forwards, saving them both time and costs.

    He has experience of providing clients with commercial advice in litigations and arbitrations, including those with international aspects. He has participated in a number of the largest due diligence processes in Slovakia and has prepared and reviewed a number of various legal documents, analyses and legal opinions. Moreover, he has advised foreign multinational companies on all areas of industrial property law, especially regarding trademarks, unfair competition, trade secrets, trade names and protection of legal entities, and on questions relating to proceedings and disputes before the respective Slovak state authorities or EU authorities and courts, in transactions, registrations, oppositions, cancellations, licenses and other matters with respect to IP law in Slovakia, including disputes and settlements regarding unfair competition and infringement of IP rights.

    Prior to joining the firm, Stanislav worked as an associate in the largest Slovak law office for more than 12 years.

    Stanislav is a member of the Slovak Bar Association. In addition, he represents the firm in the Civil Code Task Force Committee, the Employment and Social Affairs Committee, and the Healthcare Committee of American Chamber of Commerce.

    • Advising a Slovak producer and seller of steel cord and steel wire products for automotive, energy and construction markets with respect to operational labour and employment matters, including collective employment relationships, as well as commercial and corporate agenda. The advice includes a complete review of the collective bargaining agreement with the new trade unions active within the client.
    • Advising a Slovak company renting and selling equipment, spare parts and accessories to construction companies on labour law matters. Representing the client and/or its subsidiaries (as the case may be) in pending labour and employment litigation initiated by its former employee (Slovak individual).
    • Advising a US multinational global manufacturer of welding products on the winding-up of its Slovak operations, including the entire process of sale of the client’s former manufacturing plant located in the Nitra region of Slovakia and restructuring of commercial relations with business partners.
    • Advising a US payment system provider on various employment matters relating to a company employee, including negotiation of termination terms for a top manager. Also advised on changes in corporate bodies in the Slovak subsidiary.
    • Advising a top energy distributing/supply company operating on the territory of west Slovakia on corporate and corporate governance issues, including drafting legal analyses and preparing comments to the commercial and corporate documents.
    • Advising a British multinational consultancy, engineering and project management company on various commercial issues and corporate changes of its subsidiary located in the Slovak Republic. Advice included considering various aspects from the perspective of jurisdictions of the British and Czech companies from the group.
