Justin Elstob is a South African qualified lawyer practicing as a senior associate in our Corporate Practice Group based in the London office.

    Justin previously practiced as a corporate lawyer in South Africa. He has experience in corporate and commercial law, including mergers and acquisitions in a range of sectors such as financial services, manufacturing, property, retail and technology.

    • Advising a NYSE listed company on the restructuring and acquisition of a major part of its business and assets held in the UK.
    • Advising a LSE listed company on its post-IPO corporate governance.
    • Acting for the majority shareholder of a retail bank in Europe in relation to disposal of its interest.
    • Advising a JSE listed company on the disposal of a large retail division of its business to a dual listed company.
    • Advising a JSE listed company in its proposed acquisition and reverse takeover by a major dual listed (JSE/LSE) mining company.
    • Representing a major hotel and leisure group in the acquisition of the controlling stake in a number of hotels and obtaining the approval of an intermediate merger filing to the Competition Commission of South Africa.
    • Acting for a JSE listed company in the acquisition of large manufacturing business and simultaneous disposal of a division thereof on closing.
    • Advising a large privately held company on the cross-border acquisition and development of a major real estate asset.
    • Acting for a NYSE listed company in an extensive due diligence in relation to a target technology company.
    • Advising a JSE listed company in respect of the acquisition of a digital media technology company.
