Aldana Fernandez advises clients in a broad range of transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, commercial contract issues, data privacy, consumer protection and trademark/copyright counseling. Aldana also advises clients on general business matters.

    Aldana has assisted in the analysis and review of agreements in the course of due diligences processes, in both local and international transactions. Additionally, she has experience with not-for-profit organizations, both domestic and foreign, in connection with incorporation, structuring and advising on day-to-day operations. 

    Besides participating in numerous seminars, conferences, certified courses and continued education trainings on commercial and financial law, Aldana attended the program “Global Skills Awards,” held by the University of Kent, UK. She also completed, with distinction, an LL.M in International Commercial Law at the University of Kent. Her dissertation, “Responsible Lending in the Modern Consumer Society: A Critical and Comparative Analysis Between Developed and Developing Countries”, is available at Kent Library.

    • Assisting an international producer and distributor of television shows on a due diligence (based in New York law) for the largest acquisition that this company has undertaken in the US. 
    • Working on a request for authorization of change in control before the regulator of a telecommunications company.
    • Assisting a major Latin America-based bank in obtaining governmental approvals and setting the operational structure to operate as a full commercial bank in the Dominican Republic.
    • Assisting a client in the establishment of a broker service and obtaining permits and authorizations required by regulatory agencies of the Dominican Republic.
    • Assisting clients in the process of creating free trade zones, as well as obtaining permissions from regulatory agencies in the Dominican Republic.
    • Assisting clients in registering distribution agreements under Dominican Law No. 173-86 “Protection Importing Agents and Distributors.”

    • Assisting clients with the incorporation of commercial entities and not-for-profit organizations in the Dominican Republic, including the incorporation of the nonprofit association of the Major League Baseball Association and several Major League Baseball clubs.
    • Representing clients in establishing branches of non-Dominican Republic companies and nonprofit associations in the Dominican Republic.
    • Assisting clients with foreign investment registration in the Dominican Republic.
    • Assisting clients with residency applications in the Dominican Republic.
