Juan Fernández y Zarza
Associate
Juan Fernández y Zarza is an associate in the international trade department in our Madrid and Brussels offices. He has experience in the fields of international trade and sanctions, EU law and customs law.
He studied a double degree in law and Business and Economic Administration (ADE) at the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas-ICADE, and complemented his studies with a master's degree in international tax advice at the Universidad Internacional de la Rioja (UNIR).
Juan has experience in advising international companies on sanctions, export control and customs law. He has also worked with international teams in EU law and competition matters.
- Continuous advice to international banks, multilateral organisations and companies in connection with transactions, operations and export control related to countries or persons (natural and legal) subject to international sanctions of the US, EU and United Nations.
- Continuous advice to international banks, multilateral organisations and companies in connection with compliance with sanction provisions and the EU Blocking Regulation.
- Advising on project finance, international contracting and investments.
- Advising companies on commercial transactions between the EU and the UK.
- Advising on foreign direct investment in Spain.
- Advising international companies on compliance with EU export and competition law.
- Advising on regulatory matters in the medical/healthcare sector.
