Victor Genecin has represented clients at trial and on appeal in federal and state courts for more than 30 years. He speaks, reads and writes French, and works seamlessly with French-speaking clients on all aspects of US dispute resolution. His broad litigation experience includes numerous jury trials and arbitration proceedings, representation of plaintiffs and of defendants in complex commercial disputes and securities litigation; enforcement of intellectual property rights, and defending companies against whistleblower claims, wrongful discharge claims and other employment-related litigation.

    • Obtaining judgments and settlements totaling, in the aggregate, more than US $50 million in favor of the owner of high-fashion trademarks in anticounterfeiting cases against major discount retailers and their suppliers in the Southern District of New York and the Second Circuit.
    • Securing reversal by the Second Circuit of summary judgment granted by the Southern District of New York in a securities fraud case and then obtaining, as lead trial counsel, a multimillion dollar jury verdict for the plaintiff.
    • Successfully defending, as lead trial counsel, the jury trial in the Southern District of New York of a multimillion dollar action for unfair competition brought against a multinational corporation headquartered in Italy.
    • Defending, as lead counsel, a global information technology company against lawsuits in federal and state courts in New York, Minnesota and Texas.
    • Obtaining, as lead appellate counsel, a decision of the First Circuit reversing the district court, dismissing the lawsuit against our client and directing plaintiff to pursue its claims, if at all, in arbitration in China.
    • Serving as court-appointed Special Examiner pursuant to 28 USC §1782 in numerous matters to compel document production and testimony in the United States in aid of civil proceedings pending before courts in other nations.
    • Defeating, in proceedings in the Southern District and Second Circuit, the efforts of parties to a civil case in Spain to obtain discovery in New York pursuant to 28 USC §1782.
