Kaustubh George is a senior associate within the Capital Markets and M&A Practice based in our Singapore office. Kaustubh’s practice covers the diverse areas of capital markets, private equity, mergers and acquisitions and foreign investments.
    He has represented and assisted both issuers and underwriters in India in fundraising through public offers, international issuances, private equity and venture capital funding. He has also been involved in drafting, reviewing and negotiating transaction documents for a diverse variety of mergers and acquisitions-related transactions.

    Kaustubh has been practicing law since 2007. Before joining Squire Patton Boggs, he worked with a leading Indian national law firm in their capital markets and M&A team.

    Capital Markets

    • Advised InterGlobe Aviation Limited, the company that operates the low-cost carrier “IndiGo” in India, on its initial public offering.
    • Advised Axis Capital, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Edelweiss and Yes Bank as underwriter's counsel on the initial public offering of Inox Wind Limited, a leading wind turbine manufacturing company in India.
    • Advising a leading Indian bank on its proposed qualified institutions placement.
    • Advised Info Edge India Limited, the company that operates the well-known portals naukri.com, 99acres.com, and jeevansathi.com, also the parent company of zomato.com, on its INR 7,500 million qualified institutions placement.
    • Represented the government of India in its proposed disinvestment of stake in Rashtriya Ispat Nigam (Vizag Steel), a major Indian steel manufacturing company.
    • Advised Ashiana Housing Limited, a leading real estate developer in North India on its INR 2,000 million qualified institutions placement.
    • Acted as issuer's counsel for Bombay Rayon Fashions Limited, Glory Polyfilms Limited, KBS Capital Management Limited, Rishabhdev Technocables Limited and SEL Manufacturing Company Limited in their GDR issuances on the Luxembourg and Singapore stock exchanges.

    Mergers and Acquisitions

    • Advised Viacom Inc. in its acquisition of 50% stake in Prism TV Private Limited, a leading regional Indian channel broadcaster.
    • Advised Viacom Inc. in its joint venture with UTV in India.
    • Advised the Legrand Group in their acquisition of the server racks manufacturing business of Valrack Modular Systems in India and Singapore.
    • Advised Rexnord Corporation’s in their 100% acquisition of Euroflex India.
    • Advised Chemtura Corporation in their proposed acquisition of Solaris Chemtech, an Avantha Group company engaged in bromine manufacturing.
    • Advised Amrit Banaspati Limited, a BSE-listed company, and its promoters and group companies, in the sale of its edible oils and fats business and related assets to a wholly-owned subsidiary in India of Bunge Limited, for INR 3.72 billion.
    • Advised a major B2B online travel company in India on the private equity investment of approximately INR 1 billion.
    • Advised Applied Solar Technologies, a start-up engaged in the business of developing hybrid energy solutions for telecom infrastructure in its Series A and B rounds of funding by Bessemer Venture Partners.


    • Conducted anti-=corruption and bribery diligence for Chemtura Corporation in connection with its proposed acquisition of Solaris Chemtech, an Avantha group company.
    • Prepared risk matrices for various clients in relation to compliance with FCPA and PCA in relation to their business operations in India.
    • Drafted employee handbook/compliance manual in relation to antibribery and anticorruption policies for various multinational corporations doing business/establishing operations in India.
    • Currently advising a global technology company in connection with the alleged violation by its employees of the anticorruption laws in India.


    • Advised clients on thresholds under the Competition Act, 2002 that mandate merger filing with the Competition Commission of India.
    • Drafted memos and client notes on combinations, abuse of dominant position and ‘anticompetitive agreements likely to cause an appreciable adverse impact on competition.
    • Drafted and reviewed documents in connection with merger approval filings with the Competition Commission of India.
