Patrick Greaney is an English qualified solicitor with the Commodities & Shipping Group. He joined our firm from another leading international shipping firm, where he spent nearly five years working in Shanghai on commodities and shipping matters.

    His practice focusses on disputes work, and he has particular expertise in handling arbitrations in London, Singapore and Hong Kong, where he has handled arbitrations under most of the major arbitral institutions (including the SIAC, LMAA, SCMA and HKIAC). He also handles English High Court litigation. In addition to his disputes practice, he has experience handling maritime casualties and ship sale and purchase transactions.

    Day-to-day, Patrick deals with commodity disputes, charterparty disputes (in which he has particular experience of iron and steel cargos), cargo claims and insurance claims. He also advises on ship arrest and international enforcement, with experience in key jurisdictions in the Asia Pacific region, as well as in the US, the Middle East and the People’s Republic of China. Patrick has particular experience working in China and Indonesia.
