Rebecca is part of the firm’s Litigation team. She has experience of handling various types of litigation, including professional negligence claims, contractual disputes, pensions litigation, shareholder disputes and commercial debt claims. Rebecca works for a wide range of clients, from large lenders and professional trustees through to local businesses. In The Legal 500 UK 2021, Rebecca was described as “one to watch”, “very reliable and a safe pair of hands” and “tirelessly devoted to client outcomes”. She was also named as a Rising Star for Commercial Litigation in The Legal 500 UK 2022.

  • Successfully resolving a professional negligence claim worth over £1 million for a lender client, which involved a large number of property transactions.
  • Assisting a professional trustee client to bring various claims to recover pension overpayments made in error, including dealing with enforcement proceedings having secured judgment.
  • Acting for representative beneficiaries in a number of claims for rectification of pension scheme documentation.
  • Defending a shareholder dispute involving allegations of unfair prejudice against 10 clients, including companies, individuals, executors and trustees, and successfully resolving the dispute via mediation.
  • Acting for a large logistics company pursuing a claim for damage caused to rail freight being transported by another company.
  • Obtaining temporary injunctive relief to prevent a recruitment sector client’s former employee from acting in breach of his restrictive covenants in dealing with and soliciting former customers.
  • Successfully defending a manufacturing client facing fines from The Pensions Regulator arising out of alleged non-compliance with auto-enrolment obligations.
  • Acting for a local authority facing three sets of proceedings, including judicial review and adjudication, brought by a supplier in relation to the payment of exit credits under the Local Government Pension Scheme (Amendment) Regulations 2018.
  • Resolving an insurance coverage dispute arising from a professional negligence claim via arbitration proceedings.
  • Pursing a large number of professional negligence claims against solicitors for various lender clients.
  • Successfully defending a claim for a breach of restrictive covenants brought against a number of independent financial advisors, which went to an expedited trial at the High Court.
