Simon Grossobel is an associate in our Litigation Practice Group. Simon advises on commercial litigation and regulatory matters with a particular focus on sport related disputes and regulation. He has a broad experience of High Court litigation and sports related arbitrations and has advised on a range of multijurisdictional commercial disputes across a range of industries and for a variety of clients, including domestic and international sports teams, sports governing bodies, recruitment companies, consulting agencies and banks.

    • Acting for national and foreign football clubs in claims before the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber, Players Status Committee and CAS.
    • Acting for a Gulf-based football club in more than 50 contentious matters involving disputes with agents, players, former staff and other clubs.
    • Acting for a Middle Eastern national sports governing body in a CAS arbitration involving other governing bodies.
    • Advising Premier League football clubs on transfer agreements and deal structures.
    • Acting on and producing reports for an investigation for a banking regulator in Europe to review breaches of money laundering and compliance regulation.
    • Acting on a multijurisdictional dispute in connection with a US$850 million finance facility for a UAE listed company. This action included issuing proceedings in the English Commercial Court and obtaining an interim injunction to prevent the declaring of an event of default and liaising with lawyers in the UAE and British Virgin Islands to assist in parallel actions.
    • Acting on breaches of confidence for a recruitment company including obtaining interim injunctions and awards for damages.
