Lizzie Grounds has recently joined our Environmental, Safety & Health Practice as an associate. She advises clients on environmental, regulatory and compliance issues across a range of sectors, relating to the transition to net zero emissions and day-to-day operations (such as waste management, contaminated land and water pollution issues, carbon management and trading), as well as transactions and litigation.
Lizzie qualified in 2003 before taking a legal career break, during which she lived in the UK, Kenya and South Africa. Lizzie assisted in legal and commercial aspects of establishing several projects and charities, including an EV motorbike startup and an environmental trust. Lizzie also founded businesses to assist African communities.
Lizzie has recently completed an LL.M. in energy and environmental law and has a keen interest in environmental, social and governance (ESG) and environmental regulatory compliance and litigation.
Prior to qualification, Lizzie worked with in-house commercial legal teams and in managerial roles.
