Transactional experience involves, among other properties, 230 Park Avenue, 200 Park Avenue, The Chrysler Building, The Plaza Hotel, The Mark Hotel, Waterline Square development project, The Laurel condominium, The Charleston condominium, 575 Fifth Avenue, LaGuardia Airport, a US$3 billion Class A office building portfolio (Washington DC), Portals office complex (Washington DC), 125 High Street (Boston), One Federal Street (Boston), Cirrus (Seattle), Stratus (Seattle), Anaheim Concourse (Anaheim) and Mizner Park (Boca Raton).

    Acquisitions and Dispositions

    • US$705 million acquisition of the Helmsley Building, 230 Park Avenue on behalf of a sovereign wealth fund.
    • US$120 million acquisition of a residential development site in Hudson Yards from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, including negotiation of a park easement agreement.
    • US$102 million sale of Colgate Center, Jersey City, New Jersey to Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., Merrill Lynch & Co. and Fisher Brothers.
    • Sale of an office building in Albany, New York and a shopping center in Clifton Park, New York on behalf of an institutional investor.
    • Acquisition  of  the  development  sites  for  The  Laurel  condominium  and  The  Charleston condominium on behalf of prominent New York City developers.

    Development

    • Responsible for the development, financing, sales and marketing and condominium plan for the US$450 million Trump SoHo condominium hotel on behalf of a joint venture with Donald Trump.
    • Representation of a developer in the hotel conversion of the Battery Maritime Building in New York City.
    • Condominium and co-op conversions of the Plaza Hotel and the Mark Hotel in New York City.
    • Oversight of the remediation and rezoning of a ~13 acre brownfield site in Whitestone, Queens into 52 single-family homes.
    • Negotiated condominium sales and marketing agreements, property management agreements and food and beverage agreements on behalf of developers and owners.

    Partnerships, Joint Ventures and Syndications

    • US$360 million acquisition  of a  limited  partnership  interest in  a US$3 billion Class  A office portfolio  in Washington DC on behalf of a sovereign wealth fund.
    • US$50 million sale of a limited partnership interest in an industrial property fund on behalf of an institutional investor.
    • Representation of a sponsor in multiple syndications of tenancy-in-common interests in student housing properties nationally.
    • Negotiation of a programmatic joint venture agreement on behalf of an institutional investor for multi-family investments in New York City.
    • Redemption of partnership interests and sale of 142-143 Greene Street, New York City on behalf of tenants-in-common.

    Financing

    • Advised Korean asset management firm in the US$265 million recapitalization of a 650,000-square-foot office building in Washington DC.
    • US$100+ million financing and development of industrial and warehouse space on an ~80-acre parcel in Anaheim, California.
    • US$50 million sale-leaseback of multifamily properties involving a publicly traded REIT and a New York family office.
    • Representation of a major shopping owner and operator in connection with the acquisition, financing and development of properties nationally.
    • Representation of major investment banks in the origination of CMBS and mezzanine financings for multifamily, office and industrial properties nationally.

    Leasing

    • Leasing  of  over 1 million square  feet  of  office  space  in  Denver,  Houston,  Kansas  City  and Philadelphia on behalf of a Big 4 accounting firm.
    • Represented  REIT-controlled  subsidiary  in  connection  with  a  US$68 million  ground  lease  to  a national furniture retailer in Paramus, New Jersey.
    • Representation of residential brokerage firm in the leasing of retail space at 32 Avenue of the Americas, New York City.
    • Representation  of  developer  in  negotiation  of  leases  with  national  retailers  for  Shops  at Skyview Center, Flushing, New York.
    • Handling of multiple office and retail leases on behalf of landlord at 115 Broadway, New York City.
