Alison Hardy is a partner based in our London office. She is the national head of our Property Litigation team and is Chair of the Property Litigation Association, 2016/2017. Alison’s practice focuses on advising a range of clients, including developers, telecoms companies, investment funds, commercial landlords, occupational tenants and retailers on their property disputes.

  • Advising a major UK pension fund on asset management, site clearance, lease termination and rights of way to enable development of a site in London.
  • Devising and implementing site clearance strategy for a development company to enable the US embassy to move from Mayfair to Nine Elms. 
  • Undertaking a secondment to and becoming a long-term advisor for a major telecoms company, including lease renewal, telecoms code issues, break notices, dilapidations claims and access disputes. 
  • Acting for a data centre company defending claims by customers following power outages and seeking redress from wholesale suppliers. 
  • Providing property-related insolvency advice, including obtaining permission to forfeit leases where tenants are in administration. 
  • Advising on all asset management issues for shopping centre and mixed use developers/operators. Most notably, advising the owner of Castlepoint shopping centre in Bournemouth on tenant aspects of having to demolish and reconstruct the defective car park whilst the centre continues to trade.
  • Acting for a major sports company on the termination of the lease of its former UK headquarters – material compliance with break option. 
  • Advising a leading supermarket on nuisance claims brought by neighbours alleging flooding arising out of the supermarket’s development, and counterclaim against the main contractors. 
  • Representing a national surveying practice in a professional negligence claim arising from the sale of a property at auction.
