David qualified as a barrister and practiced at the Bar, before becoming a solicitor (he no longer practices as a barrister). He has over 20 years' experience as a specialist planning lawyer. 

    David works across the full spectrum of planning work including energy, residential, commercial, mines and minerals and transport developments. He also has considerable experience in compulsory purchase matters. He has always worked on behalf of both private sector clients and local authorities.

    David has extensive knowledge of planning related litigation and proceedings in all courts including Magistrates' Court, Crown Court, County Court, High Court and Court of Appeal in which he regularly acts as advocate or junior counsel.

    David is a well-known speaker and lectures to professional bodies including DCLG, RTPI, RIBA and RICS.
