Kim Hennessy is part of the Real Estate team, based in Sydney. Kim has more than 35 years of experience in all facets of property law, having acted for developers, investors, department store and retail chains, one of Australia’s largest brewers (with an extensive hotel portfolio) , a liquor store chain, a movie theatre chain, listed property companies, a finance company, industrial companies with large property portfolios – together with a number of government entities. Kim has also acted for Japanese and Singaporean property investors and developers.

This experience includes acting in an extensive range of real estate acquisitions, sales, developments, leasing transactions and joint ventures. In addition, Kim has provided advice on various property law issues, including interpretation of market rent review provisions and titling issues.

Until recently, Kim was legal counsel to one of Australia’s largest private developers. In this role he was involved in major commercial developments in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide, major industrial developments in Queensland and major residential developments in Brisbane and Melbourne. In addition, Kim was involved in the development of four master planned communities in Queensland and New South Wales.

Kim has previously been a partner of both a large law firm and one of Australia’s main accounting firms.
