Lucy Hopman is an associate in our Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group based in our London office.

    She advises clients on a range of commercial and intellectual property matters, including contracting and marketing, licensing, brand protection and data privacy.

    Lucy has a particular interest in the life sciences industry. She has undertaken a 10-month secondment at one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical and life sciences companies. She is knowledgeable about the ABPI Code, supply to the NHS and the use of medical/medical device claims in advertising to the public.

    • Drafting and negotiating sponsorship agreements, IP licences, manufacturing and distribution agreements, freelancer agreements, agreements around the use and development of technology.
    • Drafting website terms and conditions of use and privacy policies.
    • Advising on consultancy terms to reduce risk in the supply of goods/services.
    • Advising a multinational tech company and leading PR agency on regulatory and legislative compliance of their proposed advisement campaigns.
    • Drafting terms and conditions for prize draws, including advice on child participants and intellectual property and data privacy implications.
    • Preparing successful cease and desist letters for an international tech company and high street fashion house asserting intellectual property rights.
    • Advising clients on copyright, trade mark, confidential information and design right issues, as well as consumer protection laws and passing off.
