Mariko Hunt is an associate in our Energy & Natural Resources team in Perth. She has experience providing advice and representation to clients across a range of environmental, administrative and commercial matters, and in civil litigation, including in the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the Mining Warden’s Court.

    Mariko is completing a Masters in Law, Policy and Government at the University of Western Australia with a particular focus on environmental and mining law and policy.

    • Assisting to provide advice and representation in judicial review proceedings of the Western Australian Minister for the Environment’s decision to approve a proposal for a uranium mine.
    • Assisting to provide advice and representation to clients in matters concerning third-party objections to mining tenements and miscellaneous licenses in the Western Australian Mining Warden’s Court.
    • Providing comprehensive advice on matters arising under the Environmental Protection Act 1986 (WA), the Environmental Protection Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cth) and the Planning and Development Act 2005 (WA).
