Beatriz Jaramillo specializes in international arbitration and commercial litigation involving representation of multinational corporations and sovereign nations.

    Beatriz served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Judge Adalberto Jordan in the Southern District Court of Florida. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Dade-County Bar Association and the Colombian American Bar Association.

    Beatriz is also an active member of the firm’s Colombia desk and the editor of the firm’s blog, Latin America Legal.

    Prior to practicing law, Beatriz spent years working in the automotive industry.

    • Representing state-owned entities of a South American country in international commercial arbitrations brought by US contractual counterparts.

    • Prosecuting a construction dispute against the general contractor.
    • Litigating a declaratory judgment action brought by a homeowner against his homeowners association relating to construction work to be performed in common element space.
    • Representing a not-for-profit company in a lawsuit against an insurance and bonding company for the company's failure to pay or perform under a surety bond that guaranteed a general contractor's obligation to construct a housing facility for the elderly.
    • Litigating disputes brought by healthcare providers against one of the nation’s largest healthcare insurance companies.
    • Litigating a significant dispute brought by a major state utility company against a national wireless and telephone service provider.
    • Co-counseling several appeals, including matters before the Second and Third District Courts of Appeal of Florida and the Florida Supreme Court.
    • Advising client on issues related to a land use dispute over the construction of a dock.
    • Serving as defense counsel in claims involving blood thinner medications and birth control devices.
