Beatriz Jaramillo focuses her practice on defending claims against manufacturers of pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Beatriz also maintains an active practice in international arbitration and commercial litigation involving representation of sovereign nations and multinational corporations.

Beatriz served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Judge Adalberto Jordan in the Southern District Court of Florida. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Dade-County Bar Association and the Colombian American Bar Association.

Beatriz is also an active member of the firm’s Colombia desk and the editor of the firm’s blog, Latin America Legal.

Prior to practicing law, Beatriz spent years working in the automotive industry.

  • Serving as defense counsel in products liability lawsuits brought against major medical device manufacturers.
  • Handling breach of contract disputes, including a significant dispute brought by a major state utility company against a national wireless and telephone service provider and several disputes brought by healthcare providers against one of the nation’s largest healthcare insurance companies.
  • Litigating a declaratory judgment action brought by a homeowner against his homeowners’ association.
  • Co-counseling several appeals, including matters before the Second and Third District Courts of Appeal of Florida and the Florida Supreme Court.

Pro Bono Work

  • Served as the lawyer ad litem for two children through the Lawyers for Children of America program.
  • Represented a homeowner against her bank in a foreclosure proceeding.
