Lei is an associate in our Litigation and Construction & Engineering teams.

    Lei’s main practice area is contentious and non-contentious construction and engineering law. Lei advises clients including developers, contractors, design consultants and stakeholders on major real estate development and regeneration projects.

    Lei has experience includes bespoke drafting suites of contracts including JCT, NEC, and MF/1 and security documents including collateral warranties, performance bonds and parent company guarantees.

    Lei also has experience working in the public sector advising on public procurement, construction and planning matters.

    Contentious

    • Acting for a national demolition specialist contractor on payment notice adjudications against a main contractor.
    • Acting for a residential housing developer on professional negligence claim against employer’s agent/project manager.
    • Acting for a national fit-out contractor in relation to defending payment and defects claim.
    • Negotiating a number of favourable settlements in relation to various construction disputes.

    Non-contentious

    • Acting for a public-private partnership joint venture in relation to a number of real estate development projects, including drafting and advising on consultant’s appointment and collateral warranties.
    • Acting for a major student property developer on a number of development schemes in the UK.
    • Acting for a major residential housing developer on a number of PRS schemes based in Manchester.
    • Advising developer clients and drafting and procuring collateral warranties to satisfy funder’s requirements.
