Eve Johnstone is an associate in the Litigation team, based in our Manchester office and sits within our construction litigation team. She has advised local, national and international corporate clients in relation to a variety of contractual, commercial and professional negligence disputes.

    • Acting for a Metropolitan Borough Council relation to multi-party dispute in relation to an overrun on a restoration project procured using a JCT 2011 traditional contract.
    • Advising a client in the food and drink sector in relation to defects and payment disputes arising under a NEC 3 option A contract, with bespoke amendments.
    • Advising a high net worth individual in relation to a defects claim against a contractor under a bespoke design and build contract in relation to a residential property; and a potential claim under the Defective Premises Act against the original architect.
    • Acting for an Assisted Living service provider on a defects claim against the Contractor and a claim under a building insurance policy.
    • Acted for a number of lenders in relation to professional negligence claims against conveyancers and property valuers.
    • Defending trustees in an application by a member to enforce a Pension Ombudsman determination where there was a dispute over whether the Ombudsman’s directions had been complied with.
    • Advising trustees in relation to claims against members for recovery of overpayments of pension.
