Alper Kaufer is a senior associate in the Labor & Employment Practice based in our Frankfurt office. He has particular experience in litigation and counseling in all aspects of German labor and employment law, as well as related fields such as pensions, social security law and business immigration including posting of employees. His experience also covers advising national and international corporations on all aspects of individual and collective employment law issues.

    Alper counsels clients on termination procedures, social security laws and in matters involving labor litigation. He also advises in all matters of works council rights of participation and codetermination. He has profound experience with employment contract law, including works agreements, as well as the conclusion and termination of employment agreements for employees, managerial employees and managing directors.

    Furthermore, Alper has experience in providing strategic advice on business change programmes involving social plans, reconciliation of interests with respect to operational changes and TUPE/ARD issues, as well as on defending works council claims.

    Prior to joining us, he worked in the Frankfurt office of a prestigious law firm, advising internationally as part of its labor and employment practice.

    • Providing counsel to international companies on social plans, reconciliation of interests with respect to operational changes, mass redundancies and TUPE/ARD issues.
    • Advising numerous international companies on the implementation of HR policies in Germany-based subsidiaries.
    • Representing employers in lawsuits against employees (e.g. termination protection and remuneration issues).
    • Advised leading international companies on terminations of German subsidiaries managing directors including the pursuit of claims of damages against such managing directors.
    • Advised national and international companies on acquisitions, including due diligence review and post-merger integration.
    • Advised on close down of a German subsidiary of a US IT company, including advice during the negotiation of reconciliation of interests and social plan with the works councils and legal advice during litigation afterwards.
    • Advised national and international employers on business immigration to Germany for international employees (e.g. obtaining a Blue Card EU for their employees).
