Tamara Korešová's practice focuses predominantly on litigation, arbitration and corporate matters.

    Prior to joining the firm as a law clerk, Tamara worked in a local law office where she was engaged in general corporate practice.

    In relation to her litigation practice, Tamara has experience in representing clients in disputes regarding rights arising from breach of contractual obligations or directors’ duties towards companies. In addition, Tamara often cooperates with valuation experts on preparation of expert opinions for the purposes of damages valuations.

    Tamara also continues her cooperation with the Faculty of Law, Masaryk University, where she co-organises Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. She also serves as a part-time coach and often appears as an arbitrator during pre-moots and Vienna finals.

    Tamara further broadens her knowledge in the field of finance as she is studying at the Faculty of Economics and Administration of Masaryk University, where she focuses on asset pricing, financial derivatives and structured products.

    Investment Arbitration

    • Advising the Republic of Kosovo in an ICSID arbitration initiated by a German entity in connection with an alleged investment in the telecommunications sector.
    • Advising the State of Libya in a pending ICC investment arbitration initiated by a Turkish investor. The value of the dispute was €183 million.
    • Advising the State of Libya in a pending ICC investment arbitration initiated by a Turkish investor over a construction project. The value of the dispute was higher than US$61 million.

    Commercial Arbitration

    • Advising a Czech development company in a pending arbitration at the Arbitration Court attached to the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic and Agricultural Chamber of the Czech Republic regarding a dispute arising from a breach of the management contract for asset management.
    • Advising a Czech national in a pending ICC arbitration regarding a dispute arising from a breach of a share purchase agreement. The value of the dispute is CZK289 million.

    Litigation

    • Advising a Czech real estate development company in court proceedings concerning the validity of a contract relating to the construction of a retail shopping center.
    • Advising a director of a Czech company in relation to a dispute over breach of director’s duties towards the company. The dispute involves an international element (the issue of international jurisdiction). The value of the dispute is CZK1.7 billion.
    • Advising a Czech real estate development company in a court proceeding regarding a dispute over frustrated investment into a retail shopping centre construction project.
    • Advising a Swiss company operating in a petrochemical industry concerning a dispute with a Czech forwarding company concerning a breach of a contract for carriage of goods.
    • Advising a US company based in Cyprus in a dispute at the stage before Supreme Court of the Czech Republic regarding the validity of the transfer of shares in the Czech subsidiary.
