Róbert Košala is a registered legal trainee with the Slovak Bar Association and a team member in our Corporate Practice Group.

Prior to joining the firm, Róbert completed his studies at the London School of Economics, where he mainly focused on business and finance matters.

During his law studies at the Comenius University, Róbert gained experience in both domestic and international law firms in Bratislava, where he primarily worked on general corporate matters.

Róbert also conducted an internship at the International Law Department of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, and he successfully represented the Faculty of Law at the Jessup moot court competition.

  • Representing the Slovak Republic in an ICSID arbitration initiated by Discovery Global LLC, a US exploration company, arising under the US-Slovakia BIT in connection with an alleged expropriation claimant’s investment in oil and gas exploration in Slovakia. (ICSID Case No. ARB/21/51)
  • As part of a European team, assisting a UK retailer during litigation proceedings encompassing a number of European jurisdictions combining employment and health and safety expertise locally with the requirements of the globally led project.
  • As part of a multi-office team, advising a large Asian bank on the discovery phase in three court lawsuits concerning sanctions, AML and compliance matters.
