Elisette Leite is of counsel in the litigation and international dispute resolution practices. Her practice encompasses disputes and advisory work in the areas of commercial law, civil law, employment law, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. She is also an accredited mediator.

    Elisette worked as legal counsel for two years for a design and communications company. She has recently completed two long-term secondments: for 17 months in 2015 and 2016, two to three days per week, as acting General Counsel for Southern Europe for a leading international spirits group, and for 10 months in 2016 and 2017, three days per week, for a Tier-1 automotive supplier.

    Elisette is specifically responsible for the Portuguese, Brazilian and Spanish clients of our legal practice. Her native language is Portuguese and, in addition to French and English, she is fluent in Spanish, having spent two years in Madrid, Spain.

    • Advising on co-development agreements and consortium agreements (including consortium agreements for Horizon 2020 projects).
    • Assisting clients in various industry sectors including automotive, construction, distribution (beverage), media, marketing, travel, hospitality, packaging and postal services.
    • Advocating in several major international arbitrations, including ICC-administered cases (acting on behalf of a Spanish company sub-contractor regarding an international construction dispute; acting on behalf of a French company regarding wrongful termination of a distribution agreement; and acting on behalf of a French company against a Japanese company regarding wrongful termination of a distribution agreement).
    • Advising on various commercial mediation proceedings.
    • Advising on conflicts and pre-litigation situations.
    • Acting on behalf of a Spanish company sub-contractor in an international construction law dispute.
    • Advising on criminal proceedings against an employee in the media.
    • Advising on employment contract disputes including breach of noncompete agreements.
    • Advising on unfair methods of competition in business and breach of exclusivity.
    • Advising on commercial contracts including distribution agreements, services and partnership agreements.
