Markéta Lukešová has been with the Prague office since 1995. She has gained extensive experience advising on corporate law matters, mergers and acquisitions and, particularly, matters related to recovery, restructuring and insolvency proceedings.

    Markéta’s experience in the area of corporate law includes representing partners and shareholders in all corporate matters related to their shares in subsidiaries in the Czech Republic.

    Markéta is also involved in a number of M&A and real estate projects, and in drafting contractual documentation related to project financing.

    Markéta’s experience in insolvency law includes representing creditors during all stages of insolvency proceedings, including membership of creditors’ committees and advising debtors and their shareholders on preparation and development of restructuring plans.

    Corporate Law, Mergers & Acquisitions

    • Representing foreign shareholders in automotive companies in preparation for the sale of part of their manufacturing activity to an investor, and separation of the manufacturing business from the existing structure.
    • Representing a developer in its internal corporate changes and change of legal form, including purchase of its own shares.
    • Advising clients in all areas of administration of corporate matters.

    Restructuring & Insolvency

    • Representing an automotive group in insolvency proceedings regarding its subsidiary and providing representation at creditors' meetings and legal assistance in preparing the restructuring plan.
    • Representing a Czech Republic-based bank in insolvency proceedings with respect to its debtor, and legal assessment of the contractual documentation from the insolvency law point of view.
    • Representing a creditor in insolvency proceedings and participation in the creditors' committee.
    • Assessing legal procedures and solutions available within insolvency proceedings and prior to commencement of the proceedings for various clients, both creditors and debtors.
