Wojciech is a US-qualified associate in our International Trade Practice Group, where he helps clients in navigating the complexities of EU and global trade regulations and enforcement mechanisms. He represents clients in all stages of anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations before the European Commission, including gathering and analysing economic data, drafting submissions and assisting clients during verification visits. In addition, he regularly counsels clients on WTO law and EU economic sanctions, export control, customs, rules of origin and free trade agreements. Wojciech also has experience in assisting in trade-related litigation before the EU General Court and Court of Justice in Luxembourg. Apart from counselling private and corporate clients, he has advised sovereign governments on trade negotiations and trade policy development.

    Before joining our firm, Wojciech interned at the European Commission and worked for international law firms in Brussels and tax consultancies in Warsaw. Apart from his professional engagement, he regularly supports international moot court competitions, helping law students in building their advocacy skills.

    Economic Sanctions and Export Control

    • Counselling a foreign financial institution on the impact of EU sanctions on its operations.
    • Assisting in several actions for annulment of EU economic sanctions brought to the General Court of the EU on behalf of sanctioned entities.
    • Providing legal assistance for a UK-based company in exporting controlled technology.
    • Assisting in a pro bono project investigating the impact of economic sanctions, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing laws on access to financial services for women’s organisations in conflict and post-conflict areas.

    EU Trade Remedies

    • Representing independent EU importers in high-profile anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations concerning imports from China.
    • Assisting in preparation of anti-dumping complaints on behalf of EU industries.
    • Providing legal advice for an exporting producer in an anti-dumping investigation against imports from Taiwan.
    • Representing an EU industry in an anti-dumping investigation against imports from an Asian country.
    • Assisting in the preparation of an appeal to the Court of Justice of the EU in a case involving the annulment of anti-dumping duties on behalf of an exporting producer.
    • Providing legal support for an EU industry in litigating final decisions of the EU institutions regarding anti-dumping measures in the General Court and the Court of Justice of the EU.

    EU Customs Law and Brexit

    • Regularly counselling clients on the EU autonomous tariff suspensions and quotas schemes.
    • Assisting an EU-based company in litigation concerning the termination of the autonomous tariff suspension.
    • Providing clients with advice on implications of Brexit for customs compliance and supply chain management.

    Trade Policy

    • Counselling the sovereign government of an Asian country in respect of the Environmental Goods Agreement negotiation.
    • Assisting the government of an Asian country in reviewing its laws on foreign investments in light of bilateral investment treaties ratified by this country.
    • Supporting development and implementation of a trade policy capacity building programme for member states of a regional economic integration organisation.
