Katelyn Merick assists clients in a broad range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts, corporate governance and securities law compliance matters for private and public companies. Katelyn has experience assisting clients in a variety of capital markets transactions.

    Prior to joining the firm, Katelyn worked as the government relations manager at Kallner & Associates, where she was responsible for representing clients before the Ohio General Assembly and various state agencies. During her tenure at Kallner & Associates, Katelyn successfully managed controversial legislation in economic development, transportation, energy, wireless technology, tax, finance, mental health, domestic violence, “stand your ground” legislation, pharmacy, education, and real estate. Katelyn assisted clients in obtaining state funding through a variety of funding mechanisms. Katelyn also provided consulting and strategic council to local, regional and national private sector clients on public policy issues, political fundraising, Political Action Committee development and internal government affairs advancement.

    During law school, Katelyn was a member of the Capital University Law Review, and earned CALI awards for Torts, Property, Civil Procedure, Tax, Business Associations and Constitutional Law. Katelyn also worked in the Legal Services Department of Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where she gained experience in the healthcare field, as well as in general corporate matters. Within the healthcare industry, she analyzed compliance requirements and provided advice to ensure the practice met regulatory requirements, as well as industry best practices.
