Brodie Millington is an associate in our Litigation Group with experience in contentious and non-contentious matters in the building and construction, engineering, major projects and commercial spheres across Australian and international jurisdictions.

    He has comprehensive experience in commercial and construction litigation, having been intimately involved in the conduct of multiple large litigations over several years – from determining causes of action, pleadings and facts, through to evidence gathering and conduct of the matter in trial and (on occasion) on to appeal and the costs assessment process.

    Brodie has also provided advice to clients clarifying their contractual, statutory and equitable rights and obligations, assisting them in successfully resolving their disputes; and has assisted clients to successfully draft, execute and administer their respective contracts.

    Brodie has worked in the projects, construction and dispute resolution field for roughly four years, gaining substantial experience as a paralegal whilst he completed his studies, before progressing as a law graduate and then associate.

    • Acting for an international developer in a large commercial dispute in the New South Wales Supreme Court.
    • Acting for a respected Australian developer in a dispute regarding industrial concrete slabs, both in the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.
    • Acting for an inner-city council in a dispute regarding complex novel engineering systems employed in a public pool (including a six-week reference hearing).
    • Acting for an international designer in the Supreme Court and in private arbitration regarding alleged major car park subsidence.
    • Acting for a local developer in a Supreme Court construction dispute.
    • Acting for a respected Australian developer in several related disputes with owners corporations regarding alleged building defects (including multiple reference hearings, adoption hearings and extended costs assessment disputes).
    • Acting for an international sovereign entity in several commercial litigation disputes.
    • Preparation of suites of Australian Standard construction contracts for various developer and principal clients.
