Joey Núñez Aybar is a senior associate specializing in labor and employment matters, as well as real estate. He also has significant experience with commercial, corporate, aviation, retail and tax matters.

    Joey has advised both Dominican and international clients in diverse business ventures in the Dominican Republic, including the installation and shut down of free-zone operations, incorporation of local corporate vehicles and real estate acquisitions. Likewise, Joey has assisted clients in the negotiation and drafting of agreements in connection with their business ventures in the Dominican Republic, including employment agreements, outsourcing agreements, service and supply agreements, distribution agreements, lease agreements, share purchase agreements, real estate purchase agreements, among others.

    Joey served as vice-president of the Dominican Chapter of the Latin American Council for the Study of International and Comparative Law (COLADIC-RD), and is currently an active member of the organization.

    • Assisting a major US carrier with local registry of its merger with a smaller US carrier, as well as the obtainment of its local operating permit with the Dominican Civil Aviation Board. 
    • Assisting a large US retail company with creation of a local corporate vehicle as well as with diverse issues related to the installation of its first store in Dominican Republic 
    • Filing of Reconsideration Appeals with local Tax Authorities, in connection with compliance of new Dominican Transfer Pricing Regulations. 
    • Assisting foreign solar energy company with installation of real estate acquisitions related to the installation of a solar energy park in the Dominican Republic. 
    • Extensive experience with local Data Protection and Privacy Law, including the latest version of such law, numbered 172-13. 
    • Drafting, review and translation of online terms and conditions and privacy policies for foreign and Dominican online retailers. 
    • Representing foreign and Dominican clients in contract negotiations related to the execution and termination of Distribution and Agency agreements, governed under Law 173-66. 
    • Representing clients in the acquisition and lease of real estate properties in the Dominican Republic. 
    • Representing foreign and Dominican clients in the incorporation of companies and branches, both in the Dominican Republic.
