Thomas is an associate in our Litigation Practice Group, based in our London office. Thomas advises on a range of complex, multi-jurisdictional commercial disputes across various industries for clients, including FTSE 100 media & technology companies, airlines, banks, and leading sports teams and individuals. Thomas advises on matters involving mediation and litigation before courts in England and the European Union. Thomas has undertaken secondments at Chelsea Football Club and our Brussels Office.

    The Legal 500 2021 recognises Thomas as a “key lawyer” in our Commercial Litigation Practice Group, and describes him as a “very efficient and bright” associate.

    • Acting for a technology and services company in the successful defence of a claim in excess of £1 million for the wrongful termination of an international services agreement.
    • Advising a leading cryptocurrency exchange in a commercial dispute concerning the setting aside of a default judgment.
    • Advising a global entertainment/live music organisation in a commercial dispute before the High Court concerning exclusivity arrangements for the promotion and representation of leading artists.
    • Acting for a European Financial Services Authority on a significant regulatory investigation with the European Central Bank concerning money laundering and compliance irregularities at a large European bank.
    • Advising a Formula 1 team regarding the contractual interpretation of a Driver and Marketing Agreement.
    • Advising a technology services payment company on a £0.5 million claim arising from various breaches of a Share Purchase Agreement.
    • Advising a real estate investment fund on a dispute arising from a £10 million loan facility agreement, centred on a “material adverse change” clause concerning the COVID-19 pandemic.
    • Advising a leading UK retailer on a commercial dispute with its supplier regarding non-performance of supply obligations and non-payment.
    • Advising a global technology and advertising company on a claim against an ex-director for breaches of post-termination restrictive covenants, including advice regarding interim injunctive relief.
    • Advising a Premier League club owner on a complex commercial dispute involving employment and gambling law issues.
    • Advising a world-renowned media organisation concerning urgent injunctive relief related to the harassment of its lead news anchor.
    • Acting for a high net worth individual in the successful recovery of a fraudulent payment totalling £0.5 million following the intended acquisition of a Damien Hirst artwork.
    • Acting for LATAM Airlines in a group litigation claim before the High Court valued at over £1 billion following a European Commission decision to fine a group of air cargo carriers €776 million for participating in a price fixing cartel.
    • Advising a scientific research company on a reduction of its share capital.
    • Advising a Premier League footballer in a commercial dispute arising from a professional services agreement.
    • Acting on a multijurisdictional dispute in connection with a US$850 million finance facility for a UAE listed company. This action included issuing proceedings in the English Commercial Court and obtaining an interim injunction to prevent the declaring of an event of default and liaising with lawyers in the UAE and British Virgin Islands to assist in parallel actions.
    • Acting for a large property investment fund defending High Court proceedings concerning financial fraud allegations totalling £6 million, with connected proceedings taking place in both Thailand and India.
