Shaneel Parikh is an associate in the Corporate Practice Group with experience in cross-border private and public mergers and acquisitions, private equity, capital raisings, joint ventures, corporate restructures and intellectual property commercialisation transactions.

    Shaneel also assists clients with corporate governance and regulatory advisory matters, information and technology related matters such as Software as a Service Agreements and procurement and outsourcing projects, and privacy and data protection related issues.

    • Advised Harrison-AI, an Australian artificial intelligence start-up, on its AU$29 million Series A financing.
    • Advised an overseas bidder on its proposed AU$250 million acquisition of an Australian vehicle smash repair business. This included advising in relation to the Australian foreign investment laws and preparing a notification to the Australian Foreign Investment Review Board in relation to the investment.
    • Advised a high profile US-based private equity fund on its proposed AU$170 million acquisition of a global manufacturer and supplier of marine pyrotechnics through a competitive bid process.
    • Advised a public-sector management consulting firm on its AU$43 million sale to an ASX-listed information technology and services company.
    • Advised a goods platform on its AU$2 million Series A-1 financing.
    • Advised a food bio-technology start-up on its Series Seed financing.
    • Advised one of the world’s largest consulting firms in relation to an AU$11 million acquisition of an accountancy and consulting practice.
    • Advised a US-based engineering and software company on its proposed incorporated joint venture with an Australian-based asset operation company in respect of a successful tender bid.
    • Advised an Australian peak body on its unincorporated joint venture with three private international companies with respect to the funding, development and commercialisation of agricultural bio-technology application.
    • Advised an Australian technology start-up that has developed a next generation enterprise platform on its Series Seed Financing.
    • Advised Norwood Park Limited on its off-market competitive takeover bid by ASX-listed Propel Funeral Partners.
    • Advised a sovereign foreign government on its existing encryption framework and the implementation of a new encryption regulation.
    • Assisted various clients on privacy and cybersecurity related issues, including compliance with statutory obligations, preparing and reviewing privacy policies and responding to suspected data breaches.
