Purvin Patel focuses his practice on corporate and energy-related matters including renewable energy development.

Purvin has been actively involved in the development of solar, biomass, biofuels and other renewable energy power projects in the US and other countries. Purvin has also provided counsel to various clients on general corporate matters including entity formation, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. He has experience negotiating and drafting employment agreements, nondisclosure agreements, operating agreements, services agreements and other related corporate documents.

Prior to joining Squire Patton Boggs, Purvin was a law clerk for a regional law firm based in the Washington DC area, where he prepared documentation for litigation including complex litigation and class actions.

Purvin is a member of the Virginia State Bar and the American Bar Association.

  • Representing the US Department of Treasury in connection with its TARP Capital Purchase Program and in making several dozen investments in US financial institutions since October 2008.
  • Representing a Europe-based biotech company in the US$32 million sale of its business to a pharmaceutical preparations manufacturer.
  • Representing a multimillion-dollar corporation in a US$3 million stock purchase of a California-based government contractor.
  • Providing counsel to a mining company on successfully resisting an attempted hostile takeover.
