Angela Ramson is an experienced litigator and problem solver who focuses in the areas of labor and employment and commercial litigation. In her employment practice, Angela counsels and represents employers with respect to claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, Americans With Disabilities Act, whistleblower statutes and other federal and state civil rights statutes. She also focuses on representing clients in class and collective actions. Angela also advises employers on executive employment agreements, workplace policies and conducts trainings. In addition, Angela’s practice encompasses areas of traditional labor law, including collective bargaining negotiations, unfair labor practice charges, and grievance proceedings.

In commercial litigation, Angela represents clients in high-exposure insurance matters, disputes alleging fraud, bad faith, and other insurance-based litigation. Angela also represents commercial clients in business and contractual disputes, trademark litigation, construction litigation, internal investigations, corporate compliance and governmental regulation. Angela has broad experience with eDiscovery management and document retention. Angela’s practice includes representing corporations in class and collective actions as well as other litigation in various jurisdictions across the country.

Angela routinely counsels clients on risk management and litigation avoidance issues and has extensive experience focusing on the strategic and business goals of clients. Angela regularly appears in front of state and federal courts on behalf of clients including Fortune 50 and 100 companies.

  • Represented quick service restaurant franchisees in a Title VII sexual harassment and FLSA misclassification collective action suit brought by former assistant manager on behalf of all similarly situated employees. After aggressively pursuing discovery, the team was able to preclude certification of a collective action and obtained summary judgment on all of the plaintiff’s claims along with an award of costs. The plaintiff appealed the dismissal of her claims to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. After pursuing prevailing party lawyers’ fees under Title VII and appellate mediation, the team was able to negotiate a settlement and dismissal of plaintiff’s appeal without any award of damages to the plaintiff.
  • Represented a large logistics and packaging company in a trial for a race discrimination action and retaliation brought by an employee with alleged damages in excess of US$2 million. The team was able to preclude retaliation from the case during trial and received a defense verdict.
  • Representation of a major package delivery provider in labor relations, bargaining, benefits and ULP matters.
  • Represented a Fortune 50 company in multiple wage and hour class and collective actions.
  • Represented real estate developers and general contractors in construction-related disputes in several forums, including arbitration and litigation.
  • Represented numerous clients in cases involving breach of contract and other commercial disputes.
