Sarah Roa focuses her practice in dispute resolution and litigation, in particular with civil, commercial and labor matters. She has experience advising and defending clients in a wide variety of legal disputes, including damages and liability claims, labor and social security matters, property rights disputes, debt collection procedures and others.

    Her transversal practice includes representing multinational clients in disputes related to civil liability and damages. She also has experience assisting clients in litigation before administrative authorities and analyzing litigation risks. Sarah has also represented clients in family and personal matters.

    Sarah holds a masters in private law from Aix Marseille University and a criminal law masters degree from Strasbourg University, both in France. She also concluded a masters in civil procedure to specialize her practice in private international law.

    Sarah is a member of the Young Chapter of the Dominican Association for Labor and Social Security Law. She also collaborates with the French Embassy in Santo Domingo as part of the legal team of the Alumni Association. She is admitted to the Dominican Republic Bar.

    • Structuring defense strategies, drafting briefs and attending hearings in Dominican civil and commercial courts in civil claims, including contractual damages, recovery of debts and enforcement of guarantees.
    • Defending several multinational companies in labor and social security and pre- and post-litigation matters, including litigation arising between the employee union and the employer relating to potential strikes.
    • Assisting clients in due diligence processes analyzing litigation matters and potential risks, including contract revisions and for the acquisition and lease of real properties and other investments in the Dominican Republic
    • Structuring of defenses, attending hearings in court and drafting briefs to contest administrative decisions before the Dominican courts in disputes against the administrative authorities.
    • Drafting of legal opinions related to labor, civil, family and commercial corporate matters.
    • Representing companies and individuals in the defense of their properties before the Dominican courts.
    • Representing vendors and consumers in disputes related to consumer law before Dominican regulatory agency.
    • Assisting clients in debt collection procedures.
