Jeffrey Schagren is of counsel in our Real Estate Practice Group and leads our Hospitality Group in North America. He has more than 27 years of experience in various areas of the law.
Jeffrey helps clients with matters related to business negotiations, development, mergers and acquisitions, management and franchise agreements, complex contract drafting, operations, risk management and compliance and labor and employment.
Prior to joining the firm, he served as general counsel and regional human resources leader at AccorHotels, where he led all legal, risk management and human resources matters for the North America, Central America and Caribbean Division. As a member of the company’s executive team, he provided counsel on corporate governance, trademark protection, due diligence, contracts, real estate transactions, asset management agreements, human resources, national and international labor and employment laws and technology integration. In addition to traditional legal work Jeffrey also brings to hospitality and leisure clients a distinct perspective from a business view, having worked with brands, owners and operators in the industry for more than 14 years.
At LQ Management L.L.C., the parent company of La Quinta Inns and Suites, Jeffrey held several roles in the legal department, where he spearheaded contract negotiations, litigation and crisis management, strategic business planning, human resources, policy, culture and best practices for the company.
Other previous experience includes serving as associate general counsel and director of compliance for a leading national marketing company.
