Paul Scott is a senior associate located in the London office, where he practices as an English law qualified lawyer with a focus on major energy and infrastructure projects in emerging markets, acting for sponsors, lenders, offtakers and OEM’s across infrastructure projects.

    Paul’s practice includes key project documents in energy and infrastructure transactions, including power purchase agreements, implementation agreements, EPC contracts, equipment supply/installation agreements, operation and maintenance contracts, and general project structuring and implementation advice.

    He also has experience in infrastructure projects generally, including social housing, education and healthcare.

    He has practiced internationally, having spent over two years in Australia, in particular, focusing on renewable energy projects and developing the corporate power purchase market.

    • Acts for a major OEM in offshore wind developments across Europe, and also developing markets in Taiwan and Vietnam.
    • Acts for Selenkei Investments Limited and Cedate Limited in relation to the development of the 40MW Radiant Solar PV Project and the 40MW Eldosol Solar PV Project in Kenya in relation to project implementation during the development phase.
    • Acts for Chania Green Generation Limited in relation to the development of the 50MW Chania onshore wind project in Kenya, including in relation to the financing agreements, EPC and long-term operations agreements and ancillary documentation.
    • Acted for VLC Renewables on its investment in the first phase of a 500MW onshore wind farm at Zaporizhia in Ukraine, a joint fund vehicle between Vitol and Low Carbon.
    • Acted for Seven Energy in the acquisition of 50% ownership of Intergen’s 4,000MW+ portfolio of power generation assets in the UK and Australia. Advised on the share purchase and related due diligence.
    • Acted for a confidential client in its aborted acquisition of a portfolio of 2,000MW+ conventional power assets in the UK, including leading share purchase negotiations and due diligence on the operating assets.
    • Acted for International Finance Corporation in respect of the financing, development and offtake arrangements for solar development projects in Ethiopia.
    • Acted for Telstra Corporation on its offtake arrangements with the Emerald solar farm (72MW) and lead adviser in the complex consortium offtake arrangements for the Murra Warra wind farm (500MW) (including five blue chip corporates offtaking renewable energy).
    • Acted for InfraRed Capital Partners on its acquisition of a stake in the Lal Lal wind farm (500MW+), which included complex proxy revenue offtake arrangements (the first such arrangement in Australia).
    • Acted for Dutch Infrastructure Fund in the creation of the Bright Investments renewables investment vehicle, including corporate structuring, acquisitions, due diligence and offtake arrangements in relation to seed assets and a development pipeline of renewables projects in Western Australia.
