Amira Shaat is an associate in the firm’s Government Investigations & White Collar Practice Group, based in Dubai. Amira represents clients in general commercial, as well as complex construction, arbitration and litigation proceedings. Amira also concentrates on white-collar criminal defence, regulatory enforcement and internal investigative matters involving economic sanctions and money laundering.

    Educated in both the common and civil law systems, Amira holds an LLB with Honours from the University of Law in the UK and a Licence en Droit (Bachelor of Laws) from Paris Descartes, Paris-Sorbonne University, where she was awarded a Leadership Scholarship. Amira completed her training contract in London with a prominent UK law firm and qualified as a Solicitor Advocate with full rights of audience before all civil courts in England and Wales.

    Before joining the firm, Amira practiced with market-leading UK and US law firms in Dubai, London and Sana’a, Yemen. She acted for clients in common and civil law court proceedings and before several arbitral institutions under various arbitral rules, including those of the DIFC-LCIA, IBA and ICC, in disputes related to the aviation, construction, and oil and gas sectors.
