Chris is an associate in the Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group, based in London. He has experience in a range of contentious and non-contentious commercial and intellectual property matters, advising clients in the media, entertainment, sports and advertising sectors.

    Chris’ secondments at a leading commercial broadcaster and at one of Britain’s largest retailers provide him with an understanding of day-to-day issues faced by clients.

    • Advising clients in a variety of sectors on advertising campaigns, including the clearance of comparative adverts.
    • Acting for a multinational insurer in the negotiation of a shirt sponsorship agreement with a Premier League football club.
    • Drafting terms and conditions for new software as a service platforms created by clients in the marketing sector.
    • Advising media agencies in relation to various agreements, including the terms of media-buying contracts.
    • Negotiating numerous co-branding and distribution arrangements on behalf of a large media organisation.
    • Drafting and advising on terms and conditions for prize promotions for clients in the sports and food industries.
    • Advising a global social media network on its compliance with the consumer protection aspects of a new regulation.
    • Assisting with various contentious IP matters involving trade mark infringement, passing-off and copyright infringement.
